Photoshop Intro

Photoshop Intro

* Open the sample image _MG1716.jpg in Course Folder>Public>Project 3 and Save on Local Data

* Check out the Photoshop work space, Toolbar, and Menu Bar - there's a lot of similarity to Illustrator

* With your image open, explore Photoshop by doing some of the following:

* Save As .tiff

* Open Layers window and Unlock Layer by double clicking on lock icon

* Create a New Layer

* Working in Layer 0, do some editing of the image:

* In the Image Menu change the Canvas Size to 11 x 8

* In the Image Menu play with all of the Image Adjustments to get an introduction to editing color, contrast, and other effects

* Go to the Tool Bar and look through the tools - I'm particularly interested in you using the Pen Tool and other tools that will make a path.

* Try drawing a path (around some image detail) with the Pen Tool or Magnetic Lasso or other tool and then go to the Path dialog box and select Make Selection - when you have pixels selected, Copy and Paste the selection to make a new part of this industrial architecture.

* Also, look into Photoshop Help and play with the Eyedropper, Clone Stamp, and Eraser tools and explore some Filters - particularly Blur - and in the Edit menu, play with Free Transform and the functions within Transform

* Copy images from another image and Paste into Photoshop and Copy an object from Illustrator and Paste as Smart Object or Pixels.

* Finally, Save with Layers as .tiff or .psd so we can all see your 'creation' on Monday
